Aging in Place

Aging In place

What does it mean to “age in place”? Broadly, it is defined as the ability to stay in the residence of one’s choosing, comfortably, independently, and most importantly safely, for as long as possible. Here at JOMA, the idea of aging-in-place has been a consistent thread for many clients as well as for our own parents. More and more often, people are choosing to stay in their current home and remodel to fit their needs rather than move. While aging-in-place is not often the first consideration for every client we work with, we believe it should indeed be a vital consideration, regardless of the age of the homeowner.

Meticulous planning, intelligent design, and shrewd use of resources give a renovation the longevity it needs. Knowing what considerations to take into account can be a precise job and with two CAPS (Certified Aging In Place Specialists) on staff, we can explain everything you need to know to make the right decision. Athens has so much to offer--for all ages. Whether you are new to Athens, remodeling an existing home, or building your forever home, we are your builder.
