JOMA Construction was founded by John Newland along with a team of highly skilled project managers, superintendents, carpenters and support staff. With an abundance of experience in the process and procedures of building projects, as well as a passion for quality workmanship and customer service, JOMA has earned its stellar reputation including recognition from local and national organizations.
We specialize in residential remodeling. Projects range from complete contemporary and historic remodels to insurance claims as well as kitchen and bathroom renovations/additions. When my wife Marielle, and I (JOMA = John + Marielle), moved to Athens in 2001 for her to pursue her doctoral studies at The University of Georgia, we had no idea we would still be here 15 years later. We fell in love with the small-town, yet progressive attitude here, and felt it would would be a wonderful place to put down roots and raise our family.
